Atlanta & North Georgia Building & Construction Trades Council
The Academy is supported by the Council, an affiliate of North America’s Building Trades Unions (NABTU), representing the organized construction trades across Atlanta and North Georgia.
GABTA is not a standalone school. It is the training arm of an industry that needs the people it trains.

Nineteen affiliate unions and their Joint Apprenticeship Training Committees run the apprenticeships GABTA graduates enter — the same organizations that help teach the pre-apprenticeship.
Contractors across the region hire out of these apprenticeships. Their demand for skilled labor is what makes the pipeline work.
Community organizations and government agencies partner with the Academy on recruitment, wraparound support, and funding.
Sponsorship pays for tools, safety gear, certification fees, and the transportation support that keeps a graduate on the job. If your organization wants to back a cohort, we would like to hear from you.
